FRENCH LUXURY AMBASSADOR ENSEMBLER
Recognized for the excellence of its craftsmanship and its influence
on the decorative arts, an emblem of France on the first transatlantic liners…
Maison LELEU reinvents itself over four generations. “We have preserved the distinctive lines and signature elements of the Maison, which we have reinterpreted with a modern perspective to connect past and present.”
Lighting, furniture, rugs…
a blend of historical and contemporary craftsmanship
The revived history of LELEU
The founder Jules Leleu established his eponymous cabinetmaking house in Paris in 1910. From the outset, he fostered a fruitful dialogue between art, luxury, craftsmanship, and precious woods, gaining international recognition as one of the foremost interior decorators of his time. In the 1970s, the Maison temporarily closed its doors. In 2018, Alexia Leleu, great-granddaughter of the founder, reinvented the house by revitalizing its archives, forging relationships with partner workshops, and seeking out new centers of excellence.
A collection inspired by the house’s archives
Maison LELEU primarily manufactures in France and Italy, except for rugs, which are crafted in partner workshops in India renowned for their ancestral mastery of the LELEU knotting technique, known for its distinctive finish. Pieces in the collection are reworked or imagined in France by Alexia Leleu, who selects the finest elements to create unique pieces steeped in history, both aesthetically and in craftsmanship. Some pieces originate from her own creativity, subtly diverging from the past. “We start from the old by integrating contemporary techniques to create new designs and finishes that would not have been possible in the last century.”

Three universes for Tailored Living
Modern style
A universe blending the heritage of designers Jules and Jean Leleu with contemporary elements, offering the sleek lines of Art Deco with a touch of femininity, balancing angles, curves, and harmony. It embodies Maison’s unique vision of modernity with enduring pieces firmly oriented towards the future.
Classic style
A historical universe inspired by traditional Louis XV and Louis XVI styles, where LELEU distinguishes itself with clean lines, refined finishes, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Elegance, iconic designs, and the nobility of materials characterize this classic universe, where Alexia Leleu brings to light the foundational principles of the house.
Timeless style
A universe transcending eras and time, featuring creations that are “timeless”. Here, LELEU’s signature shines through in harmonious forms, choice materials, and impeccable craftsmanship. These pieces exhibit apparent simplicity yet embrace a delicate and confident elegance, seamlessly fitting into both classic and contemporary interiors.
A decorative repertoire for infinite combinations
The existing collection and archives serve as a creative repertoire. Each component of every piece of furniture, the colours, the items in the collection, and also the archives, all contribute to nurturing creativity, forming a library of shapes, lines, and materials from which to draw inspiration to imagine a unique object or design. Whether creating something entirely new or adapting a design from the collection, each piece is crafted bespoke to meet the precise and personal needs of the clientele.
A special relationship
Maison LELEU places utmost importance on its clients, inviting them to explore showcased pieces and archives while sharing their desires and ideal designs. Whether for rugs or furniture, dimensions, formats, colours, and finishes are all customizable to suit individual tastes and lifestyles.
The Maison’s showroom often serves as an intimate setting for clients to visualize pieces in situ, ensuring the perfect height, light reflection, or fabric drape.
Under the presidency of Alexia Leleu, after a 45-year hiatus, Maison LELEU has swiftly reclaimed its place in the realm of high decoration. The Mava armchair graces the Élysée Palace, while renowned luxury houses, including Cheval Blanc, and esteemed designers like Robert Couturier, Humbert & Poyet and Studio Shamshiri have commissioned bespoke creations from the Maison.
