Toyine Sellers’ journey into weaving was sparked by a challenge from renowned designer Peter Marino. Embracing imperfection as part of her aesthetic, she creates unique textiles blending natural fibers with fanciful elements. I work with a workshop in Jaipur, a city rich in craftsmanship, textile and jewelry creation. Fabric is my primary medium. It allows me to link art and function, and offers an intimate interaction between humans and objects.

The gesture is at the center of my weaving work. It animates the woven surface and gives that recognizable organic and spontaneous vibration in my collections.
