From September 7th to September 16th, 2023, design and material enthusiasts, professionals, and those curious about interior decoration and architecture will have the opportunity to explore the “MATIÈRES À PENSER” exhibition at the Une Fille Aux Cheveux Noirs gallery.

During Paris Design Week, the gallery invites ADÈLE Collections to showcase its natural decorative coverings, textiles, and limited-edition objects created in collaboration with artists and artisans who reinterpret the use of materials.

The exhibition is designed as a dialogue with the space of the Une Fille Aux Cheveux Noirs gallery, located at 11 rue du Perche in the heart of Le Marais, Paris. The gallery’s architecture and ambiance were taken into account in the selection of materials to be presented, as well as the shapes and colours, in order to create a perfect harmony with this unique location.

ADÈLE Collections showcases its artisans from around the world and their craftsmanship, including leather marquetry, extraction of plant lace, raw material furniture dressing, leather weaving, wool weaving, nettle, jute, lava firing, hand embroidery on plant fibers, and more.

All of ADÈLE Collections’ natural coverings, including papers, leathers, stones, plasters, fibers, etc., are presented in situ during the exhibition and remain available in their raw form to inspire designers, architects, decoratorsand all lovers of beautiful stories.

Located in the heart of Le Marais, the Une Fille Aux Cheveux Noirs gallery is an intimate sanctuary where authenticity and elegance come together. The space serves as a bridge between Western and Eastern cultures, blending art objects, design pieces and ready-to-wear collections. The gallery, conceived as a living space, is open to the public and also offers the experience of a by-appointment welcome, akin to an intimate and friendly invitation.

The founder, Amilus Chou, known by her influencer name  @a_unefille, was born in Taiwan and grew up and studied in the UK and Japan. In 2009, she created her blog “Une Fille Aux Cheveux Noirs” in Tokyo and became the official blogger for VOGUE Japan in the same year. In 2011, A. or Ami, relocated to Paris after the Tohoku earthquake in Japan. Her gallery, Une Fille Aux Cheveux Noirs, hosted its inaugural exhibition in the heart of Le Marais in spring 2022 following the first artist residency initiated by the curator

Following the meeting with ADÈLE Collections at the Révélations 2022 fair and the choice to dress the furniture in her apartment with Maya fiber, Amilus invited them to showcase their work at her gallery during Paris Design Week 2023. Together, they present the exhibition “MATIÈRES À PENSER.”
